Peggy Flanagan
U.S. Senate · MN · Democrat
Summary
Peggy Flanagan is the Democratic nominee in Minnesota's 2026 U.S. Senate election and will face Republican nominee Michele Tafoya.
Peggy Flanagan is the Democratic nominee in Minnesota's 2026 U.S. Senate election. She is a critic of the Israeli government and has described Israel's conduct in Gaza as genocide. Flanagan has said she would oppose offensive U.S. weapons sales to Israel while continuing to support a two-state solution and the security and self-determination of Israelis and Palestinians. Her record therefore reflects opposition to particular forms of U.S. military support rather than rejection of Israel's existence.
Flanagan has unequivocally condemned antisemitic violence and threats against Jewish institutions. After vandalism at Temple Israel in Minneapolis, she condemned the antisemitic symbols and said people must be able to feel safe in houses of worship. The reviewed sources did not identify a detailed position on Iran's nuclear program, campus antisemitism and Title VI, federal Jewish institutional security grants, or Israel's treatment in international organizations.
