Representative Mike Collins is the Republican nominee in Georgia's 2026 U.S. Senate election and has established a strongly pro-Israel record in Congress. He has supported continued U.S. defense assistance to Israel, criticized delays in weapons shipments, backed the full dismantlement of Iran's nuclear program, and voted for sanctions and immigration restrictions targeting Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist organizations.
Collins has condemned Hamas's October 7 attack, supported Israel's right to defend itself, and called for the release of the remaining hostages. He has voted for resolutions condemning antisemitism and campus antisemitism, although he voted against the Antisemitism Awareness Act in 2024. His son in law shared white nationalist and antisemitic content online; Collins stated that he has no role in his campaign. His 2026 campaign has also faced scrutiny over a 2024 social-media exchange that Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported was criticized as antisemitic; Collins said the exchange had been misunderstood and rejected the allegation. He has supported ICC sanctions and addressed Georgia's Jewish community at an October 7 memorial.

Support for a Strong U.S.-Israel Alliance

At an October 2024 memorial marking the first anniversary of the October 7 attack, Collins said that Hamas had miscalculated because its attack strengthened the alliance between Israel and the United States. He pledged to help ensure that Israel has the resources it needs to defend itself.

In May 2025, Collins met Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter at a Faith & Freedom Coalition of Georgia roundtable and stated that he was proud to stand with Israel.

Collins criticized the Biden administration's decision to pause key weapons shipments to Israel and voted for H.R. 8369, the Israel Security Assistance Support Act, which sought to require the delivery of congressionally approved defense assistance to Israel.
Preventing a Nuclear Iran

Following U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in June 2025, Collins stated that a nuclear- armed Iran would represent an existential threat to U.S. allies in the Middle East and to global democracy and peace. He expressed support for the operation and praised an approach of seeking peace through strength.

In May 2025, Collins signed a congressional letter supporting a nuclear agreement that would fully dismantle Iran's nuclear program and permanently eliminate its capacity to enrich uranium. The letter warned against another agreement resembling the JCPOA.

In November 2023, Collins voted for H. Res. 559, which declared that a nuclear-armed Iran is unacceptable and established preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon as U.S. policy.

Condemning and Combating Terrorism

Collins voted for H.R. 340, the Hamas and Other Palestinian Terrorist Groups International Financing Prevention Act. The legislation sought to impose sanctions on foreign persons and entities supporting Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other Palestinian terrorist organizations and to disrupt their financing and weapons-smuggling networks.

Collins voted for H.R. 6679, the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act. The legislation would make members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, as well as people who participated in or supported the October 7 attack, inadmissible to the United States and ineligible for immigration relief.
Response to Hamas's October 7 Attack

On the second anniversary of the October 7 attack, Collins said that Hamas had attacked both the people of Israel and the idea of free and fair democracies. He called for remembrance of the victims, prayers for peace, and the release of the 48 remaining hostages.

Following the attack, Collins cosponsored and voted for H. Res. 771, which condemned the war launched by Hamas and other terrorist groups, reaffirmed Israel's right to defend itself, and stated that the United States stands with Israel.
Fighting Antisemitism

In July 2023, Collins stated that he was proud to support a House resolution condemning antisemitism and reiterating U.S. support for Israel. He described the U.S.-Israel relationship as a strong partnership based on shared values.

In December 2023, Collins voted for H. Res. 894, which condemned and denounced the rise of antisemitism in the United States and around the world.

In May 2024, Collins voted against H.R. 6090, the Antisemitism Awareness Act, when the measure passed the House by a vote of 320-91.

During the 2026 Senate campaign, Jewish Telegraphic Agency revisited a 2024 incident in which Collins responded favorably to a social-media account that highlighted a Washington Post reporter's Jewish background. Jewish organizations and political opponents criticized the exchange as antisemitic; Collins said critics had misunderstood his comment and denied that it was antisemitic.

Protecting Jewish Students on Campus
- Collins voted for H. Res. 927, which condemned antisemitism on university campuses and criticized the testimony of the presidents of Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology after they declined to state unequivocally that calls for the genocide of Jews violated their institutions' codes of conduct.
Standing Against Political Extremism
- Collins voted for H. Res. 798, which condemned support for Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations at institutions of higher education and called on campus leaders to condemn antisemitism and enforce federal civil-rights protections.
Defending Israel in International Organizations
- Collins voted for H.R. 23, the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, which would impose sanctions on International Criminal Court officials and other foreign persons who assist efforts to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute protected persons from the United States or allied countries, including Israel.

- In October 2024, Collins addressed thousands of members of Atlanta's Jewish community at a ceremony marking the first anniversary of the October 7 attack. The event included survivors, relatives of victims, rabbis, Jewish community leaders, and members of Georgia's congressional delegation. Collins stated that Israel must prevail and that the United States must ensure Israel has the resources it needs to defend itself.
