Summary

Representative Ashley Hinson is the Republican nominee in Iowa's 2026 U.S. Senate election and will face Democratic nominee Josh Turek.

Representative Ashley Hinson is the Republican nominee for Iowa's 2026 U.S. Senate election and has established a strongly pro-Israel record in Congress. She has described the U.S.-Israel relationship as an unbreakable and invaluable partnership, supported continued security cooperation, opposed returning to the Iran nuclear agreement, and argued that Iran must not be permitted to obtain a nuclear weapon. In June 2026, she called for any new Iran agreement to be enforceable, to prevent any future nuclear-weapons pathway, and to maintain accountability before sanctions relief.

Hinson has repeatedly condemned Hamas and supported military assistance to help Israel defeat the terrorist organization and secure the hostages. She has backed legislation addressing antisemitism and campus discrimination, supported federal scrutiny of universities that fail to protect Jewish students, and cosponsored legislation examining security programs for Jewish nonprofit organizations. She has also supported sanctions targeting International Criminal Court officials involved in actions against Israeli leaders and has engaged with Jewish organizations during her campaign and congressional service.
