Gregory B. Braca, President of Metro New York TD Bank and  Carol C. Lapidus, CPA, Partner, McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, will be honored by the American Jewish Congress at its 45th Annual Financial Services Industries Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at noon in the Grand Ballroom of the Pierre, 61st Street and Fifth Avenue, New York City.

GREGORY B. BRACA is the President of Metro New York for TD Bank, N.A., which includes the five boroughs of New York City and North and Central New Jersey.  Mr. Braca is responsible for implementing a comprehensive commercial, middle market and retail growth strategy that complements TD Bank’s retail store network. His efforts support TD Bank’s lending model, which ensures that local bankers are making local lending decisions. In addition to managing Retail Banking, Mr. Braca also has responsibility for Middle Market Teams, Small Business Services and Specialty Lending, including Healthcare and not-for-profits.  TD Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of TD Bank Financial Group, among the top 40 banks in the world today.


CAROL C. LAPIDUS, CPA, is a Partner in the New York Office of McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. She has served clients as an accountant and consultant for over 26 years. Ms. Lapidus advises clients on organizational structure, licensing, international operations, cost containment, inventory management and long-term planning. Ms. Lapidus also assists clients in identifying, negotiating and securing financing and equity. In 1994, Ms. Lipidus became the first woman in the history of Goldstein Golub Kessler & Company, P.C., to be voted into the partnership.  Partners of that firm joined McGladrey & Pullen in 2007.

Guest Speaker Matthew Goldstein is the current Chancellor of The City University of New York (CUNY).  His keynote address, entitled  "The Past is Prologue: New York's Economic Recovery", will focus on universities as engines of economic development and the need for a strong government-business partnership in New York, and across the country.

The American Jewish Congress presents its Annual Financial Services Industries Awards each year to business leaders who have made notable contributions in both the financial world and within their own communities.
